Kris Olson
Kris Olson is Music Director of the Kentuckians Chorus. A barbershopper since 2009, Kris has previously served as the chorus' Assistant Director and Youth in Harmony Coordinator. Through his leadership, the chorus established the Kentucky Youth in Harmony Festival, a workshop which brings together young singers from across Central Kentucky to work with the most accomplished barbershop performers today. Kris has also served as an occasional arranger for the chorus.
Kris is the choral director at George Rogers Clark High School in Winchester, where he also teaches AP Music Theory, guitar, and other fine arts classes. He holds two bachelor's degrees, one in Guitar Performance from Transylvania University and one in Vocal Music Education from the University of Kentucky.
Kris lives in Lexington with his beautiful, talented wife Katherine and their dog Minnie, who frequently sings along with them.
